lost in good design...

him and i decided it's time for a few changes. change #1: the living room. i've been searching for months and months to find an entertainment center/armoire for our living room. my pocket book is now large enough, but i still can't find one i love:( so i'm ready to get serious about it. the one we have in our living room now was given to us by our renters. when they moved out, they asked if we could take it to the D.I. and since we'd been married only a few weeks we didn't have much and decided to keep it. {i'll leave it to your imagination for what it looks like now!} i also want new drapes in a nutral color {maybe the ivory nailheaded ones at west elm} and want to hang up the new pictures {i got for Christmas} i have hiding behind the couch. change #2: our bedroom. it's officially time for a king-size bed! i never thought it would be necessary but it is! so the deciding begins... upholstered? platform? dark? bedding? should i just splurge and get the one i love at PB? can i find something similar somewhere cheaper? and the questions continue. so today as i was wandering though the wonderful world of online design i ended up wasting an entire hour of my time {don't worry, baby's asleep} enjoying rooms that made me feel at peace. and not answering ANY of my own questions.

so i'm enlisting the help on my e-friends (that's you!) do you know where i can find good furniture, at great prices, with clean and somewhat contemporary lines? if so, let me know!! and if you would like to anwer any of my unanswered questions, oh how i wish you would!

I don't know if it helps, but Josh and I were looking for an entertainment center and coffee table for ever not too long ago. We happened upon a TJMaxx home store in Boise. (Not a regular TJMaxx, but a TJMaxx home). It was the most amazing store ever! TONS of furniture and decoration for uber cheap. There probably isn't one too close, but it's worth a trip.

I also recommend Palmer's in Logan. Hope that helps!

Have you ever made the trip down here to Ikea? Good good deals, and lots of their stuff is contemporary! I can't wait to have a house to decorate! I loved all of those pics... those rooms definitely make you feel good!

I recommend Willowbrook Cabinets...
come see me & we can build and entertainment center exactly the way you want it! Maybe not the most inexpensive option but if you want an investment piece that will last its a good option.

Oh Marci! Haha I LOVE you! How about next time we both get together and browse pics? I love the ones you found! Ok so my favorite furniture stores are Sweet Briar in Herriman, Drexal Heritage in Murray, Restoration Hardware at Trolley and of course PB at Trolley. Good luck on the search girl. It took me 4 months to find one that I really LOVED!
Oh and anyday you want to come down let me now. I have a wide open schedule too! And I would love to see you and let the babes play!

Hey Marci! Oh the woes of furniture shopping. I know and feel your pain! Everything I love is way expensive from PB or Restoration Hardware. However, Kyle and I have found a few things we have liked at Crate and Barrel. We were also trying to find an entertainment stand a few months ago, and looked and looked and LOOKED. So, we finally found one at Crate and Barrel we liked, but we never got to see it in person. It has turned out to be a nice piece. As far as your bed goes, I think you should do a combo of upholstered and wood! You know the ones that are upholstered but then framed around in a really pretty dark wood? LOVE THEM. Chelsey and I have talked about furniture shopping lately, and we decided that sometimes it is worth it to splurge on the pieces you know you love. We just did that with a new couch. . .and we LOVE it. Will hopefully have the thing forever! Maybe you can convince James of this logic! One more thing- there is a store at Gardner Village in West Jordan called Down To Earth, and I LOVE it. Classy and contemporary furniture, that's really not that expensive. We bought our bed there and our dining table. You should check it out! Sorry this is SO long. . .I will stop typing now!

I will say that Palmer's Home furnishing out on 10th west(I don't know what south, maybe 6th?) They have great prices because they order the items directly from the company. You basically look through the magazines they have and place an order. That's why they are so cheap. That's where we got our dining table. Also, tyr 2 Brothers outlet. ( I would just go to all the outlets around Logan) I like Hobby Lobby's and Downeast's stuff but even for "discounted" items I think they are pretty pricey.

I'm sure you will pick the perfect items because you are so talented in that area. Good luck. Let us know what you get!

Hey Marci!!!
First of all you need to invite me to your other blog cause you always check mine out but I can't look at yours :( and I love to check out your little man. And second of all we have bought all of our furniture at Fishers they are a little more expensive but they have a ton of stuff. We also just got some couches at there clearance center and I don't have any idea why they where clearance cause we had to go to there regular store to pick them up and they where all wrapped up in plastic and looked brand new to me??? But anyway hope that it helps.
